today, i went to birch aquarium after my classes with 3 of my friends (alexis, vera, & giselle), since it was free for ucsd students. we were pretty short on time because we went at the last time slot, but we had a blast anyways!

we visted each of the fish tanks first (i forgot the name of that part of the exhibit). the jellyfish were soooo cute and adorable — i especially liked the moon jellyfish and i got quite a few good pics.

at the giant octopus tank, i didn’t realize my flash was on and i took a picture!!!! i felt so bad, but luckily i reacted fast and covered it and the octopus didn’t seem bothered. but afteerwards i had to walk away…

at the turtle tank, i felt so special because the turtle kept swimming in front of me, so i got a lot of great clips and pictures. my friends used some of my clips for their influencer tiktoks.

when we wen outside, there was a section to gently pet the starfish, baby sharks, and sea cucumbers, but i did not want to touch them, so i filmed some clips for my friends instead! they said the baby lepoard(?) shark had an interesting texture and you could only pet with two fingers and in one direction.

all the exhibitions at birch aquarium were so fun, it’s been like ten years since i’ve been to an aquarium, so it was nice to visit one after such a long time! i wish i went to birch aquarium my prior years as well… too bad this is the last time going free as a ucsd student :(
